I don’t think Trump was 1/4 as bad as people like to pretend, but … fine. Let’s agree for the sake of argument that he had to go, and let’s also agree that Biden was the best possibility to get that done.
Okay. The deed is done. “Orange Man Bad” is gone. You can come out from under your bed.
But now you’re faced with a clearly incompetent person in the White House. That is not good for America.
Can you imagine any self-respecting president with one functioning brain cell and one molecule of testosterone allowing his staff to give him cards to tell him who he can pick to ask a question at a press conference? That’s how you treat people with dementia.
This is miles past acceptable. The man simply does not have the juice to perform the job, and he has to go. The sooner the better.
When Bush 41 famously said “Message: I care” (or something like that), everyone laughed because you don’t read out the stage directions or the goals of a scene, even though we all know they were there at one point when writing the script.
When Biden repeatedly mentions that he’ll get in trouble if he does something, or that he’s been instructed to do something, no one laughs because we all know it’s necessary.
If Obama had said the very same things, we wouldn’t have thought anything of it or even bothered to write blog posts, because he was clearly in command of himself. Yes, I feel differently when Biden does it. _Look at the man_.
Incidentally, particularly on the Trump vs. Biden issue, Conrad Black had an article today: https://nationalpost.com/opinion/conrad-black-evicting-donald-trump-was-clearly-a-catastrophe. Only Lord I’ve ever received a personal email from.
Good article.
Why did he email you?
I’d like to say it was unprompted, but not quite. 🙂
He’d given a talk in Large Canadian City about Chesterton and Canada. It was a very good talk, gave a good survey of the source material, and he admirably resisted the temptation to say because the attendees were mostly Canadian Chesterton fans that GKC had something insightful to say about our country.
I tracked him down to talk about it.
He already flattered the emperor before and he got a full pardon in exchange. What’s not to like about Trump from that standpoint?

I don’t think Biden is 1/4 as bad as conservatives like to pretend. What’s “really” not good for America is how conservatives have different standards for a president. For instance…
*They tell lies about Biden but endured incessant lies from Trump. The most recent one…Biden didn’t show up for the return of fallen service men from Afghanistan. When all else fails, they make crap up!
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/aug/30/instagram-posts/bidens-cabinet-members-were-present-honor-13-dead-/
*They find no fault in a president who attempted to get his VP to illegitimately stop Congress from certifying a democratic election and attempted to coerce state election officials to “find” votes in his favor.
*They say Biden’s plans will cost too much money but supported Trump increasing the national debt by 7.8 trillion. So much for fiscal responsibility.
*They say China is an adversary and should suffer consequences for their role in initiating Covid, while at the same time supporting a president making public statements such as…
* “Now we are working very strong with China on the Coronavirus.”
* “We have a tremendous relationship with China which is a very positive thing.”
* “I know President Xi and we get along very well…they are trying very, very hard. ” (in response to the question… “how confident are you that China is being 100% honest with us when it comes to this scary virus?”)
*They chanted “four more years” for a president that blatantly stated on the world stage that he believed a foreign adversary (Russia) over his own administration.
* They criticize Biden for his gaffes (Bumble Biden) while offering endless excuses and euphemisms for Trump’s inability to communicate effectively…expressing pride in a president that the world literally laughed at during a UN presentation.
* They accuse Biden of nepotism and believe his son Hunter should be investigated. Yet, they had no problem with Trump hiring his children (who have no government experience) in key positions in his administration and feel they should be exempt from investigation.
*They accuse Biden of being “creepy” Uncle Joe while having no problem with Trump being accused of sexual assault by nearly 20 women, sleeping with a porn star and boasting about his sexual prowess and grabbing them by their “meow”. Interestingly, during some rallies, female supporters proudly wore T-shirts that said…”Trump can grab my…”
That said, this Afghanistan debacle isn’t the first time conservatives counted Biden out. Things like the following were said…
* After Iowa, can anyone really say Biden is/was a legit opponent?
* It’s elder abuse to put this man out there as a candidate for president. He’s getting worse by the month, and if there are any debates this fall, …. Well. It will be very sad.
* Trump wins convincingly (the election), we get the verdict on Tuesday night, and riots break out all over the country as a result.
Yet, somehow Biden has survived all the predictions of his demise to date. It will be interesting to see if he will continue that trend or if conservatives will finally find a way to make some of the manure they throw his way stick.
