{"id":2820,"date":"2022-10-11T19:04:19","date_gmt":"2022-10-11T19:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowhill.net\/blog\/?p=2820"},"modified":"2022-10-11T19:05:25","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T19:05:25","slug":"whats-behind-the-totalitarianism-on-the-left","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowhill.net\/blog\/2022\/10\/11\/whats-behind-the-totalitarianism-on-the-left\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s behind the totalitarianism on the left?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anyone who is paying attention should know exactly what I&#8217;m talking about, but here are three recent examples. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11296589\/PayPal-backtracks-policy-fined-users-misinformation-following-backlash.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paypal considers (then walks back) a proposal to &#8220;fine&#8221; users $2,500 if they promote &#8220;misinformation.&#8221;<\/a>  <\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/10\/10\/california-makes-it-illegal-for-doctors-to-disagree-with-politicians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California is making it illegal for doctors to disagree with politicians.<\/a>  <\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/16\/blackrock-faces-scrutiny-from-19-state-ags-over-esg-investments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blackrock and other asset managers are forcing companies to follow their ideological agenda. <\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It seems like this is the consequence of several different trains of thought that have been festering on the left. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> There is no truth, and therefore no point in debate. Everything comes down to an exercise of power.\n<li> Words are violence.\n<li> Oppressive attitudes (racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.) are so deeply ingrained in the system that the only remedy is to tear it all down.\n<li> There is no right to free speech.
