Leaked Zoom Video Reveals Hospital Officials Discussing COVID-19 Scare Tactics
National File and other local media outlets that reported on the leak identified the people in the video as Mary Kathryn Rudyk, a physician at the medical center, who is asking Carolyn Fisher, the hospital’s director of marketing, how to inflate the number of people classified as COVID-19 patients for the purpose of generating fear in the unvaccinated.
“I think we have to be more blunt, we have to be more forceful—we have to say something coming out—if you don’t get vaccinated, you know you are going to die,” Rudyk said in the video. “Let’s just be really blunt to these people.”
That’s how you win over people who are already skeptical. By lying to them to scare them.
What is the bigger threat to the health care system?
At the beginning of the Covid epidemic, we were supposed to quarantine to slow the spread so the health care system wasn’t overwhelmed.
Now, vaccine mandates are supposed to keep the health care system from being overwhelmed.
But vaccine mandates are causing nurses and other health care workers to quit.
Are we allowed to ask whether vaccine mandates are causing more stress on the system — through resignations — than the unvaccinated are?
I don’t know the answer, but is anyone looking into this?
Gen. Milley’s coup
I’m sure you’ve heard the story. According to Bob Woodward (who I don’t trust), Gen. Milley tried to undermine civilian control of the military, and had very questionable backchannel conversations with the Chinese.
Sen. Marco Rubio has written a letter to President Biden saying Milley must be fired immediately.
Slow down, Senator.
Perhaps he should be put on leave immediately, but there needs to be an investigation. It’s not right to fire someone because of something Bob Woodward said.
What does “consent” mean?
Yesterday I heard part of an interview Jordan Peterson did with Danica Patrick in which they discussed (among other things) the concept of consent. Then, this morning, I saw this: ‘They’re All Pedophiles’: Singer Alanis Morissette Says Multiple Men Had Sex With Her When She Was Just 15.
You have to draw lines, of course, but is sex at 16 consensual, but not at 15?
Is it consensual if you’ve had a drink? What if you change your mind? What if you’re upset. What if you believe that by having sex you’ll advance your career?
What if one person is very persuasive? Or incredibly attractive?
I’m not trying to excuse anybody, and I don’t doubt that men took advantage of Ms. Morissette. I also don’t doubt that this sort of thing goes on all the time, all over the place.
Part of the problem is that we’ve moved from a relatively clear rule — sex outside of marriage is wrong — to the idea of “consenting adults,” which is not clear at all — as college students have proven.
