Dangerous old men

I just read this quote — “Beware of an old man in a profession where men usually die young” — and I can see two ways to interpret that.

The nicer interpretation is that a man who has survived a long time in a profession where men usually die young is clearly a badass who knows what he’s doing. Beware of him (if you’re on the other side). He’ll get you.

The less nice interpretation is that a man who has survived a long time in a profession where men usually die young has clearly been hiding behind others, allowing others to take risks while he holds back and stays safe. Beware of him (if you’re on his side). He’ll betray you.

Will Biden’s DOJ label the looney left as domestic terrorists?

Some extreme actors on the left have been threatening some pretty dire stuff. They’ve gone beyond fire-bombing of pro-life facilities, and are now threatening the assassination of Supreme Court justices.

These people do not represent most of the left, of course. They’re the violent extremists.

After the lame response of the Biden White House when somebody threatened to kill Justice Kavanaugh, what can we expect from the Biden DOJ? Will they label these people domestic terrorists? Will they pursue them with any vigor?

I hope so, but I’m not holding my breath.

Crowhill Associates issues a statement about recent actions by the British Empire

At CA, our teammates are the heart of our business, and we are committed to protecting their health and well-being.

Today, the British Empire announced that it will no longer permit Indian widows to be immolated along with their deceased husbands.

We at CA are prepared to ensure that all of our teammates have consistent and safe access to this time-honored tradition.

In response to today’s ruling, we are announcing that if a family wishes to burn a recent widow alive, GA will provide up to $4,000 in travel expense reimbursement to travel to the nearest location where that care is legally available.

We recognize people feel passionately about this topic — and that there are teammates who will not agree with this decision. However, we also recognize that decisions involving health and families are deeply personal and made with thoughtful consideration. We are making this decision so our teammates can access the same end of life options they have become accustomed to.
