If I were president, and I had put our country into the current situation in Afghanistan, I would tell America, our allies, our enemies, and the world, something like this…

NYC Restaurateurs: It’s Not Our Job to Enforce Vaccine Mandates
My first reaction to this was my irritation with the government for pushing yet another enforcement issue onto businesses, and to wonder where they get the authority to do it. Then I remembered that restaurants are already required to check ID before they sell alcohol, so … I guess it’s generally within their bailiwick.
However, (1) I don’t think it’s good practice in general to force businesses to have to do too many things like this, and (2) as the restaurant owners ask, why just them? Why not Home Depot, CVS, etc.? (In general, it seems the big boys are getting favorable treatment in the pandemic.)
As with so many of these Covid things, this seems rather “seat of the pants.”
