    1. If you can’t see the hypocrisy in people who are saying “unity and peace” who then immediately rush to impeach, that’s very telling.

      1. You’ll never get absolute and perfect unity. The next best thing is to marginalize the psychopathic leader of the violent people, while the rest of the country stands against him and his avid followers. Peaceful and rational conservatives should now join together in their opposition against Trump and Trumpism. There is actually no hypocrisy in this.

          1. No, I am not. I did not say “true conservatives.” I said “peaceful and rational conservatives.” For present purposes I could even simply say “peaceful conservatives.” No fallacy of any kind here.

            1. If I were to say, “here is a peaceful and rational conservative who doesn’t oppose Trump and Trumpism,” you will immediately say “he’s not a peaceful and rational conservative.”

              1. I will not immediately say that, but through a rational chain of inferences I will. The alleged conservative in question would have to know of the events of the 6th of January, including Trump’s incitement of violence. A person who did not know that by now would have to be so out of touch that she could not possibly be rational. If she is does know it, however, and does not does not oppose Trump and Trumpism, she is not peaceful. A person who fails to oppose plainly acknowledged outbreaks of violence, including the open incitement thereof, is not peaceful.

              2. My prediction has come true. That’s how the “No True Scotsman” fallacy works.

              3. No, it isn’t. I did not say “true” anything. You’d better hit those logic books again.

          2. Or if your qualm is with “unity,” I would simply say that it is fallacious to idealize the concept. Surely we are not expected to sing Kumbaya with David Duke.

      2. That should be: “Peaceful and rational conservatives should now join together with like-minded liberals in their opposition against Trump and Trumpism.”
