This article makes a good point: Ignoring And Ridiculing Election Fraud Concerns Will Not Make Them Go Away
Whether or not you agree there was massive electoral fraud in the 2020 presidential election does not really matter at this point. Every American should be deeply concerned if nearly half of all voters are convinced that large-scale fraud handed the election to the Biden-Harris ticket.
Some are acting as if the right response is simply to call these people ignorant rubes.
That’s a pretty common tactic these days, on all sides. For example, many conservatives think the left has been deceiving people about allegedly racist attacks by police. I don’t suspect conservatives will make much progress simply by saying it’s fake news. They need to address the concerns in a way that will persuade the people who believe the police are racist.
It’s an important issue. We can’t have a civil society when a large portion of the population believes the police are killing people because of their skin color. If they are, we need to take tremendous measures to fix that. But if they’re not, we need to take tremendous efforts to correct that misunderstanding.
The same is true of election integrity. We can’t have elections where almost 50 percent of the population believes there’s systemic bias. We need to find out the truth, and we need to communicate that.
Congressional hearings? A blue-ribbon panel? An open debate on national TV?
What’s the path forward?
Have no idea what the path forward may be. I’m certainly ok with any investigations or inquiries. Let’s see … although Trump could not show to any court any big problems. All the Krakens are still caged, evidently.
Though, even if we have investigations, I don’t expect it to sway most. My mother has dementia. Sometimes she thinks she killed someone in a car accident 25 years ago. She was in a car accident, she rear ended someone, and everyone walked away with no injuries. However, sometimes she is convinced she killed someone. And, she is convinced the police are searching for her for killing someone. I went to the sheriff’s department to show outstanding warrants, and of course, her name was not there. She wouldn’t believe. Then, I told my dad to take her to the sheriff’s station with her and ask if they were looking for her. Of course, the sheriff said, “no.” I asked my mom if it was settled now because of what the sheriff’s deputy said. Her response, “they’re lying.” So, all for naught.
Read a joke on Twitter… Two Republicans get to heaven (maybe that should be the punchline)…. Anyways, two Republicans get to heaven. When they get there, they ask St. Peter about the election being stolen. St. Peter says, “Biden won.” They ask, “can we see the big guy?” So, they get an audience with God and ask him and he says, “Biden won.” Then, one turns to the other and says, “I had no idea how far up this conspiracy goes!”
Sorry about your mother, and good joke.
Whether you’re liberal, conservative, or moderate, the conclusion seems unavoidable: A substantial part of the population is mentally ill.
Is it really mental illness when people believe the minority report? Take the two examples I raised: believing racist cops are hunting black people, and believing there was fraud in the recent presidential election. Do you have to be mentally ill to believe one of those things? I don’t think so.
Pollyanna
An Orthodox priest, Fr. Raphael, who is a retired cop and a Republican shared this article: https://t.co/VK8GWkdrQ1?amp=1
Evidently Fr. Raphael’s dad got caught up in so many conspiracy theories.
We can have investigations into elections, but those that have already been brainwashed aren’t going to believe the investigations.
You wonder how some American can be radicalized and go commit crimes in the name of Allah? We’ve seen how they can be radicalized in the name of Trump. When an Islamic terrorist does it, we say, “Never forget!” When homegrown radicalized Trumpers do it, the right says, “Can’t we just move on?”
I didn’t read the whole article (skimmed). It looks pretty good.
It reminds me of a suspicion I have about division and conspiracy theories, which I will mention in a new post.
Saw a link on Twitter someone had to prove the flat earth theory wrong. And, then you have to think how anybody could believe the world is flat, today? It just makes no common sense …even ignoring satellite imagery and such. A person can go up in a plane and see the world is not flat. You can ask them for a map of the world as flat and show that the airplane travel times make no sense based on that map. But, not matter what, they have an “answer” why the earth is flat. In the face of that, evidence or the truth are absolutely useless.
Gotta see the video embedded in this tweet… especially if you are a Calvinist…then you can go find a wall, whimper, and gently bang it against the wall for 30 seconds…

There’s proof texting…and then there’s PROOF TEXTING … there’s biblical illiteracy…and there’s general illiteracy…
This was given on the Senate floor…have no idea of what party the speaker is from or even who she is. It’s just a trip. I’d bet she’s a Southern Baptist.
Someone further on down has a reply video… evidently it was given on the Texas senate floor…increasing the odds she was a Southern Baptist.
OMG!!! Say it aint so!
That’s funny.
That could well be the goofiest mixture of religion and politics that has ever come to my attention, and I have seen some whoppers. You couldn’t make that connection if you were using Luther’s translation: “Darum, liebe Brüder, tut desto mehr Fleiß, eure Berufung und Erwählung festzumachen; denn wo ihr solches tut, werdet ihr nicht straucheln.” The word for “election” in the political sense is “Wahl,” not “Erwählung.”
I suspect an accurate interpretation isn’t what matters to those who have this type of rhetoric. As long as it fits their narrative, that’s good enough.
That said, there seems to be contenders for the top spot for goofiest mixture of religion and politics… https://youtu.be/433b5RJ9BME

There are contenders for the goofiest mixture of religion and politics.
These are not just the voices of some goofy individuals, but rather a whole subculture that is not going away any time soon.
Indeed. They were once considered the fringe of conservative circles. It appears they are becoming more mainstream.
