The Westboro Baptist / BLM rioters

Remember the Westboro Baptist Church? It was (is, I suppose) a tiny church in Florida that got out-sized headlines for going around saying awful things. They’d protest military funerals, and do other things that completely defy normal standards of decency.

Remember how the media treated them? They were almost universally condemned.

Why aren’t the radical elements of the riots getting the same treatment?

When they say cops should be fried like bacon, or that it would be better if their umbilical cord strangled them, or any of the other horrible things these anarchist protesters are saying … why aren’t they met with the same condemnation?

You know why.

    1. Interesting. I was sure that I saw Westboro Baptist Church while I was driving down 95 towards Palm Beach airport. I must have seen it wrong.

  1. One extended family in Kansas, very tightly organized. BML a nationwide, little organization. Hardly comparable.

      1. Those particular groups that do violence or encourage it should certainly get condemnation. But it would be wrong to regard them as a representative of BLM. I think that it’s great that those initials were put on display right in front of Trump’s unsightly building in NYC.

        1. I don’t know the exact relationship between BLM and the violent parts of the “protests,” but BLM’s leadership is Marxist and their platform is not something most people — black or white — would agree with. They’re extorting idiot companies like Microsoft to give them money, as if that’s helping black people. It isn’t.

      2. QUOTE: Which means BLM should be getting more condemnation. I’m not seeing it.

You must not be exposed to outlets such as Fox News, The Daily Wire, Breitbart, National Review, Rush Limbaugh, et. al. Seems there’s constant condemnation of BLM with them. Oh, can’t forget the US President. He seems to give a consistent condemning “shout-out” to BLM too…one of the largest bully pulpits in the US.

  2. The Westboro Baptist comparison is more than fair. Westboro Baptist was a small localized organization. While I don’t agree with them, their protests were peaceful and approved by official permit. For that, they received widespread criticism.

BLM is a much larger organization whose protests have been accompanied by violence. BLM accomplishes nothing for black people – unless you count burning down black-owned businesses as progress. BLM should probably be designated as a terrorist organization. If nothing else, it should be investigated by the FBI. But for some reason, BLM receives widespread support and little critical scrutiny.

    1. BLM doesn’t get scrutiny because if you dare to question them you’ll be called a racist, and everybody is scared to death of being called a racist.
