How the left ruins everything
Hmm…so the left ruins everything??? I suppose that’s a matter of opinion. Ironically, I suspect liberals likely have a list similar on one of their cyber echo chambers. But, for grins and giggles, I thought I’d explore these statements…
OPINION: Disney Princesses — shaming little girls for liking what they naturally like.
REALITY: Is it fact that little girls in most cultures “naturally” like Disney Princesses? Is there a part of their DNA that makes them predisposed to Disney Princesses? If there are little girls who don’t like Disney Princesses, are they considered “unnatural”? Seems, the alleged “shaming” from the left is relative the idea that little girls can ONLY like or MUST aspire to be like a Disney Princess. Not shaming because some little girls like them.
OPINION: Acting — only people of the same race/sexual orientation can play a character.
REALITY: Some popular films have featured cross racial/orientation characters without issue from liberals. Yet, there’s been negative reaction from conservatives when the notion of James Bond being played by a Black man. A similar reaction when films like “The Hunger Games” or “Black Panther” featured Black actors (in presumed White roles) or had predominately Black casts. As well, a number of gay/lesbian actors have played straight roles without issue. Seems the reality is there’s mud on BOTH sides of that fence.
OPINION: Literature — emphasizing diversity over talent.
REALITY: What’s the definition of “talent” and who gets to determine it? It seems the criticism is there are artificial or biased “limits” or “barriers” on what is considered talent.
OPINION: Late night TV — used to be apolitical and funny, not it’s relentlessly political and not funny.
REALITY: TV has contained political satire for years…nothing new about that. Like most things in the US, appeal for such humor is divided along partisan lines, according to polls. So, what’s funny for some may not be funny for others.
OPINION: Religion — it’s all left-wing social rules, not anything transcendent or meaningful.
REALITY: What data is this assertion based upon? Who’s deciding what’s transcendent or meaningful? Since Fox has the largest viewing audience, isn’t this an area they could play within *if* they desired? That said, religious programming isn’t the mainstream but has it every been? As well, there are a number of TV channels, streaming services, websites, podcasts, etc. dedicated to religion in the US. So, for those who desire it, it’s available.
OPINION: Sports — it’s increasingly political.
REALITY: According to Pew Research, about six-in-ten U.S. adults (62%) say it’s very or somewhat acceptable for professional athletes to speak out publicly about political issues.
OPINION: Free speech — the youth believe in free speech, but not “hate speech.”
REALITY: All speech it’s not all constitutionally protected…there are limits. Given that, it seems youth are indicating that hate speech is harmful to society and advocating for it to be minimized. Yet, it seems the real questions are…what constitutes true “hate speech” and is “true” hate speech constitutionally protected?
OPINION: The rainbow — now it’s political.
REALITY: The rainbow has been coopted by the LGBTQIA+ community and others to symbolize equality. Yet, that hasn’t negated its original symbolism. Whether that expansion has ruined the rainbow seems to be a matter of opinion, rather than fact.
OPINION: Race — we are one of the least racist, most multi-ethnic societies in history, but the left continues to be obsessed with race and racism in America.
REALITY: On what data is this assertion based upon? The US may be highly multi-ethnic but that doesn’t equate to all ethnic groups being valued and treated equitably.
OPINION: Adoption — inter-racial adoption is frowned upon.
REALITY: A recent study from the Institute of Family Studies indicates inter-racial adoptions have increased by 50 percent over the last decade. Yet, there are some that still express concerns that inter-racial adopted children may become targets of bigotry due their family’s inter-racial composition. As well, research indicates that with domestic US adoptions many White parents don’t desire to adopt Black children because they are considered too different. Lastly, some feel inter-racial adoptions may not allow for children to value for their ethnic heritage, which could lead to psychological/emotional challenges.
OPINION: Male and female — they want to impose gender confusion.
REALITY: Indeed, there are only two biological sexes. The rest are cultural inventions that tend to engender confusion.
OPINION: America — blame America first.
REALITY: Is there data to verify this as fact? If not, isn’t this no more than a “feeling” or opinion…similar to…”the left ruins everything”?
OPINION: Thanksgiving — it’s an opportunity to educate your un-woke family.
REALITY: Being a long-time member of the conservative Christian community, I’ve long heard it advocated that Thanksgiving is an excellent opportunity to share one’s faith with family. In a country that allegedly extols the virtues of “free speech”, what’s the issue with people advocating for “any” values they hold dear over a Thanksgiving meal? Or, is it only conservative ideals and values that are permissible?
Sure. Your opinions are “reality.” We’re so fooled.
If that’s the best response you have…indeed we’re so fooled…lol!
I’m not going to go line by line through your response when it’s structured in such a dishonest way.
You forgot to mention that the left are Satanists who eat babies.
There seems to be another omission. A former conservative White House official has been criminally charged for defrauding other conservatives that donated money to the “We Build the Wall” campaign. Yet, some conservatives on social media blame liberals. Once again, the left ruins everything!
Structured in a dishonest way? You mean like your initial post? Or, were we supposed to be fooled?
That said, an insightful quote seems to be apropos here…“People should admit their own ignorance, of course. But it’s far more important that they admit their own bias.”
There’s a fat right wing radio commentator that says of himself that he’s a “harmless little fuzz ball” cracking jokes for 3 hours a day 5 days a week for 30 years—incessantly political. I guess he’s funny and brilliant if you agree with his politics, but the others are boring and not funny because you don’t?
Most of the jokes coming from the so-called “left” nowadays are about Trump. He provides them with such rich material that using it is simply irresistible from a comedic standpoint. Meanwhile that fat guy on the radio thinks it’s funny to call women “sluts” and “whores.”
