And I live in the reddest state. Should have a violence rate less than the national average, right? Education here should be near the top, right? It’s not? What do you mean?
I have no idea what the problems in Baltimore are. I used to travel there a lot in my early 20s to work with Westinghouse near BWI. I remember you had to be careful to stick near the inner harbor, or stay in the burbs.
I can surmise what the problems of Detroit are. Detroit used to be a city of almost 2 million. Used to be the 4th largest city after NYC, LA, and CHI. Now it’s a population of 700k caused by white flight. Imagine trying to provide services to a city whose area has not shrunk, but whose tax revenues have not at all kept up. Nightmare.
