A theory:
In and of himself Biden is a weak choice for the Dem nominee. But isn’t he the one ‘chosen’ by the political kingmakers – the same way that Obama and Hillary were chosen before him? And isn’t it his ‘turn’ to run for president? If this theory is true, he’s the inevitable Dem nomination. So maybe Trump had/has a reason to be concerned about him.

Given Biden is the presumptive Dem nominee, it appears he is a legit opponent. Seems the only predictable thing is unpredictability, these days.

Now that Biden is presumed to be President-elect, with the highest number of votes of any presidential candidate to date, it would appear he was quite a formidable opponent. As I’ve said previously, in 2020, the only thing that’s predictable is the unpredictable.
On a completely different set of circumstances than existed in February.
I think Biden owes a large part of his success in tying up the Democratic nomination to the pandemic. And he certainly owes much of his success in the presidential election to the pandemic. It wasn’t his great campaigning from the basement.
