Durham: Not all corruption is criminal

Durham’s final report blasts FBI’s handling of Trump-Russia probe but doesn’t recommend new charges

His “scathing report” does not recommend new criminal charges, but clearly exonerates Trump and also serves to put flowers on the grave of the credibility of the liberal media.

What I haven’t heard in the coverage so far is whether some political operative orchestrated this, or whether it’s a case of systemic leftward bias at the FBI. I’ll have to catch Shapiro’s show this evening and hear what he has to say about it.

  1. Why does the right assume there is leftward leaning bias in the FBI? Most LE or even military I know are right leaning. I’m sure they’re all puppets whose strings are being pulled by George Soros or a secret trans cabal of pedophiles in the basement of a pizza shop.

When I ask why assume they are left leaning…. Who are Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein? Would we be hearing about them to this day if they hadn’t of broken Watergate wide open? Or really, if their source had chosen different reporters to confide in? Don’t you think some FBI guys immersed in that culture want to garner as big a name as J. Edgar Hoover and break a case as big as the president being involved in espionage or election cheating? You break a case like that and it’s a career maker. If you even get a whiff of something that could break a case like that, you dig in with everything you got as a LE officer. Prior to this, I think Steele had a good rep as a former intelligence officer. That is in shreds now. But, if Steele today said something to Trump, MTG, Gaytz, or Hoebert about Joe or Hunter they’d be calling for Congressional investigations and speaking on Fox and OAN. You can take that to the bank.

If I was a newsman, I’d shut out Schiff from any screen time. The amount of times he went on TV and said charges are imminent and it all was vapor… makes me want to vomit.

    1. How much money did the US taxpayer shell out for Ken Starr to find out Clinton got a BJ ? I’m sure it’s the first ever…

    2. Fair question. I think the truth is that rank and file FBI agents lean right, but the leadership very clearly leans left.

      1. Then why do the MAGA people still support Trump since he appointed a leftist to head the FBI?

        1. It “seems”, for some, it’s acceptable for the FBI to lean right but it’s anathema “if” it leaned left. Both can be biased and corrupt. We’ve seen plenty of examples on both sides. Given that, the standard shouldn’t be left or right but the “rule of law”.

        2. Because, as is abundantly evident by now, they will support him whatever he does even when it’s entirely incompatible with the reasons for which they profess to support him. It’s gotten to the point of a cult.

  2. Durham’s 6.5 million, 4 year investigation seems to have a number of strong admonishments to the FBI but nothing criminal. Even the two criminal cases they took to trial were loses. Seems it’s fallen short of all the right-wing rhetoric. So now that the right hasn’t found all the criminal boogie men that were promised they are going to “try” to make much out this report.

An interesting contrast to Durham’s report…it argues the FBI acted hastily and on “uncorroborated, raw information” and shouldn’t have done the full investigation. Yet, the DOJ/IG (under the Trump administration) concluded the FBI was justified in opening the investigation and those decisions were free of any political bias. As well, at the time the Russia investigation was conducted, it was authorized under Trump’s DOJ leadership…with a well known Republican special counsel. So, it doesn’t seem to be riddled with “liberal” bias.

So, for millions spent, it seems we got one FBI guilty confession, no successful court criminal prosecutions, and a report that was filled with recommendations that had already been identified by the DOJ/IG and implemented by the FBI (several years ago). Seems this is another indicator that there wasn’t a “Russia Hoax” being promulgated by the Deep State.

  3. QUOTE: Durham: Not all corruption is criminal

This seemed to the sentiment being expressed by the Dems when the Mueller Report was released. Despite the significant corruption implications discovered by the investigation, it was pooh-poohed by Republicans. Now, with Durham, it seems the non-criminal corruption sentiment is valid with Republicans. Ironically, it was the Trump administration DOJ leadership that commissioned both investigations.
