Is treason the right word for Joe Biden’s contemptible border policies?

If his goal was to undermine the United States, I don’t know what Joe Biden would have done differently.

He’s weakened and demoralized our military. He’s sold off large portions of our strategic petroleum reserve. He practically invited a Russian incursion into Ukraine, then got us involved in the conflict. He’s intentionally destroying our energy industry. He’s actively trying to destroy what’s left of our culture — in many different ways. He’s done nothing to preserve the dollar’s status as the world reserve currency, which will have a dire economic impact on the country. I think it’s likely that he has accepted bribes against the interests of the United States.

The man is despicable, and I have sometimes said he’s a traitor.

But I think I’m wrong about that.

Webster’s defines treason in a relatively narrow way. It means an attempt to overthrow the government or to kill or injure the sovereign or his family.

The U.S. Constitution defines treason like this: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

By that definition, you might be able to make a case that Biden is a traitor. Allowing our border states to be overrun could (maybe) be considered an act of war, but if it turns out that he has taken bribes from China, that would definitely qualify.

Biden is treacherous. He’s a disaster of a president and will go down in history as the worst ever. But up to this point, I don’t think it’s fair to accuse him of treason.

Well, if this is true, now that the Republicans have control of the House, maybe they can provide evidence and expose such unsavory criminal corruption.

Yet, they are going to have to do better than they are currently in their investigations. When Republican friendly FOX criticizes your investigative efforts, it’s not so encouraging (see below). As well, when an unnamed informant, that allegedly holds critical criminal information, and investigators suddenly lose track of them, it doesn’t add much confidence in the veracity of such claims. Just sayin’.

STEVE DOOCY: I know the Republicans said that the smoking gun was these financial records that you were able to subpoena and got your hands on that show some of the president’s relatives were paid more than ten million dollars from foreign sources between 2015 and 2017, and your party, the Republican investigators say that is proof of influence peddling by Hunter and James [Biden,], but that is just your suggestion. You don’t actually have any facts to that point. You’ve got some circumstantial evidence. And the other thing is, of all those names, the one person who didn’t profit — there’s no evidence that Joe Biden did anything illegally.”

An interesting side note…if the issue is about influence peddling…the dates are odd because they were at the end of Biden’s tenure as VP and/or wasn’t in authority. You’d think the transactions would have been earlier so he could have used his role as VP. Yet, who knows, these people may have looked into their crystal ball and knew he would defeat Trump and become POTUS.

Seems yet another Republican forecast of an “invasion” hasn’t occurred as predicted. Yet, it’s still early…time will tell.

BLOOMBERG: “The number of migrants seeking to cross the southern US border has been “markedly down” during the past two days, bucking expectations of a surge after pandemic-era border rules expired, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said. The US Border Patrol “has experienced a 50% drop in the number of encounters versus what we were experiencing earlier in the week,” before the restrictions known as Title 42 were lifted, Mayorkas said on CNN’s State of the Union.
