Free that shaman dude

We’ve been told a very partisan and twisted version of the events of January 6, and now Tucker Carlson is revealing a (probably equally) partisan and twisted view of the events.

The biggest revelation from Carlson is that lawyers for Jacob Chansley, the so-called QAnon Shaman, were not given the tapes that Carlson is now showing. Those tapes should have been in evidence at the man’s trial, and it’s horrible that the lawyers weren’t even able to see them.

It seems to me that his conviction should be overturned and whoever kept those (possibly exonerating) tapes under wraps should be punished.

I’m glad Carlson is releasing these tapes, but he sounds a bit like the mainstream media, standing in front of a bunch of fires pronouncing the BLM protests “mostly peaceful.”

Maybe once the tapes are out for all to see we can get a more accurate picture of what actually happened that day — rather than the manicured version that promotes a particular point of view.

  1. Well, Tucker is certainly a clown…

Yes, if the tapes are significant, the shaman dude should be freed, immediately charged, arrested, and tried again. Did Pelosi kidnap him and drag him past the broken doors, or did she drag him through a broken window, or past cops saying not to trespass?

One thing holding things up might be that HE PLEAD GUILTY.

    1. C’mon. You know how plea deals work. “We’ll hold you up for 20 years and drain all your resources while lawyers slow-walk things or you can plea to this little thing and be out in 3.5 years.”

I’m not defending him or anybody who went into the Capitol that day. They were wrong, they shouldn’t have done it, and many of them should be in jail. Certainly anyone who damaged property or attacked a cop.

What bothers me in this particular case is that the footage of him in the Capitol was not available to his defense attorneys. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed anything. But to withhold potentially exculpatory evidence is a huge problem that we can’t allow.

  2. Any unauthorized person who was present in the Capitol building on Jan. 6 committed a crime, especially when they were disorderly as that goofball plainly was. Any footage of him in the Capitol buidling at that time is only proof that he committed a crime. Footage of him not being disorderly at a given moment is totally irrelevant. Carlson is only trying to confuse people, and that does not involve much effort, as the bulk of his audience is severely cognitively challenged.
