“The Romans were 1,000 years ago, right?” C’mon, Joe Rogan

I mostly like Joe Rogan — based on the handful of times I’ve listened to his podcast — but this takedown is pretty funny.

I don’t completely agree with Doug’s approach here, but he points out how amusing it is when people think they’re being logical and rational and show that they really haven’t thought it through very well.

  1. Doug will forever be known as the guy who defends slavery and tries to bury sexual assault. Not that he’s alone in the second part…but he sort of is on the first.

  2. Presuppositionalism seems to be doomed from the outset. Either one attempts to prove it, but in that case it involves a presupposition no less than any other position, or one just demands that we presuppose it without any proof. Both extremely unpalatable positions, to say the least. Of course it doesn’t help much to add on a bunch of nutty political claims, but that’s another matter.
