  1. That’s a fair criticism of Biden and his administration. Interestingly, there were significant issues during Trump’s administration (see below) but without much comment from the right. So, is this current concern about the effective running of the country or partisan politics?

    KEY TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ISSUES
    1. Civilian deaths from US-led airstrikes in Afghanistan increased by 330%. In 2019 alone, more than 700 civilians were killed, more than any year since the beginning of the war.
    2. Seventeen service members died in Afghanistan in 2019, the highest number since 2015.
    3. Abandoned Kurdish allies with withdrawal from Syria.
    4. Consistent misinformation on Covid – VP Pence emphatically indicated no second wave.
    5. Corruption/incompetence that led to the termination and resignation of numerous officials. Record turnover– in 32 months exceeded 5 presidential predecessors’ full first terms.
    6. 7.8 trillion added to the national debt.
    7. Administration officials used private emails for official government business.
    8. US global image declined—world laugh at a US president during a UN presentation.
    9. Stimulated chaos throughout the Middle East with withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal.
    10. No known responses to US intelligence determining Russia paid bounties to Taliban-linked Afghan militants to kill US troops.
    11. Shared classified intelligence with Russian representatives during Oval Office meeting.
    12. Attempted disruption of US democratic peaceful transfer of power (e.g., lied about election outcomes, incited Capitol riot, pressured state election officials to change official election outcomes, pressured VP Pence to interrupt congressional election certification, skipped 2021 presidential inauguration).

      1. Thanks, I “think” I have the answer. When the response is whataboutism, I suspect it’s primarily partisan politics at play. If it was about the effective management of the country, conservatives would likely object to problematic behavior from their opponents AND their side (when they do similar things). Yet, what we see most frequently is incessant whining about their opponents but “crickets” when conservatives do something similar or worse. Sadly, things must have gotten pretty bad for conservatives given they invented a “fake” syndrome to respond to justifiable criticism of their champion.

        1. I don’t where you get your caricatures of what “conservatives” do — or why anybody really cares what “conservatives” do.

          1. It’s not a caricature…my comments reflect what conservatives have “actually” done.

Ummm…I’m not sure how much exposure you have to the real world…but most Democrats and Independents (which make up the majority of the US population) care what conservatives do…especially those conservatives in elected office. Maybe the problem is conservatives don’t care about what they do. That would explain a lot.

      2. PS…I forgot to mention, I agree with your point about leadership incompetence and being fired. Seems the majority of American citizens did just that in Nov. 2020 with a resounding, record-breaking vote. With that, those in charge were fired. Notably, not only fired (despite historic odds favoring the incumbent) but with the distinction of being the only twice impeached president in US history.

  2. Weird. Call me a whataboutter, but, I thought orange bozo was trying to get foreign countries to buy our weapons and planes over other the products of other countries? Biden administration does it and it’s the end of the world? Can conservative panties get any more twisted?

Right wing still prefers to say Freedom Fries and yet they’re upset that France is having a spat with us? That’s all it is, right? What is France gonna do?

    1. Perhaps you didn’t read the article. It’s France that got upset, to the point that they recalled their ambassador.

The issue is not the deal with Australia. The issue is the way the amateurs in the White House handled it with out allies.

      1. QUOTE: The issue is not the deal with Australia. The issue is the way the amateurs in the White House handled it with out allies.

Perhaps you didn’t fully read the article. Based on it, the issue was ALSO about the deal with Australia because France stands to lose about 65 billion. One has to be naive to believe that wasn’t a major factor in France’s reaction. As well, the US and Australian officials engaged French officials about the deal (see below article excerpt). Other than not doing the deal, there was no way France was going to be happy with this arrangement…no matter what measures the US and Aussie put into place.

“US officials defended the deal, and both the Americans and the Australians have indicated that the French government wasn’t blindsided by the reneging of the original contract, saying high-ranking French officials were made aware of the decision by the Australian government. A senior administration official also said top American officials had communicated with their counterparts in France about the new agreement before and after it was announced.”

So, to smitemouth’s point, when Trump et. al. were making moves like this, it was considered an “America First” power move and lauded by conservatives. Now that Biden et. al. are doing it, it’s considered mismanagement by conservatives. Even the article highlighted the leadership similarities (see below). ISTM, this type of management is either good or bad for the country. You decide. Yet, it can’t be good when it’s conservative leadership that does it but bad when liberal leadership does it.

”Biden’s attempt to thread the needle of European diplomacy and navigate a post-Brexit world has left some loyal allies suggesting Biden’s actions have ignored their needs or have been in line with those of his pro-nationalist predecessor, former President Donald Trump.
Prior to recalling the French Ambassador, Le Drian, in response to the deal, had strong words for the US, saying, “This brutal and unilateral decision resembles a lot of what Trump is doing.”

  3. Honestly don’t buy the whining. When Trump was destroying relations with our European allies and going for bi-lateral agreements with ‘Gyna, all the conservatives were waving their flags.

If Trump was president right now and the same thing happened, the right would be saying “F*CK FRANCE!” You know it.

I will say the media is a joke on this. If orange bozo was president and this was happening, they’d be in a tizzy. But, they’re pretty much silent as is the whole left side of the aisle.
