  1. I’m not sure what wokeness has to do with this. It seems world superpowers have different visions of future energy sources and time will tell which has the more accurate bet. Interestingly, according to the article, it seems China’s current nuclear efforts are based on historic US innovations.

“The molten-salt reactor concept was first devised back in 1946 as part of a plan by the predecessor to the U.S. Air Force to create a nuclear-powered supersonic jet. However, the experiment and the many others which followed — including an experimental reactor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee which operated for many years — ran into problems. It is not yet clear how, sixty years later, Chinese researchers have solved these technical problems.”

Despite not being as developed as China’s reactor, Natrium plans to build a pilot plant in Wyoming which has financial backing from Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

As well, it seems some have made inroads into what could be different viable options for future energy for the US and other nations which can be competitive with China’s efforts.
