Biden warns global warming is the greatest threat to national security in speech to troops
Anyone who has followed Joe over the years knows that he has a very iffy relationship with the truth. When he’s not just making something up on the spot because it feels right, he might be plagiarizing somebody.
Now we have to deal with the additional factor that he’s showing signs of age-related … something. Maybe dementia.
Playing fast and loose with the truth is nothing new for Biden. Over several decades, he has become infamous — even among politicians — for gaffes, blunders … and lies.
I wish Joe the best, partly because he’s the president, and partly because if he has to step down, it would be President Harris, and that would be awful.
That’s doubly odd because to my knowledge, other than somewhat more frequent ER trips for various situations Alzheimer’s patients are more prone to get themselves into, and maybe the occasional admission for an injury, they don’t really require much more in the way of hospitalization. It’s not like they lie there in hospital beds getting treated. They’re generally medicated to the point that is of any use (which is still fairly small at this point), and kept at home under supervision until that becomes untenable. Even if an aging population caused an overwhelming flood of Alzheimer’s patients, the hospitalization numbers wouldn’t go up that radically, and to the extent they did increase, it would be on a normal, predictable curve that the hospitals could anticipate and adjust their capacity for, just as have they have all along as the population has aged.
If you want an aging population doomsday scenario, wait until the millennials hit long term care age and there are no young people around to provide the care. But I doubt you’ll hear about that from high places, until it is upon us.
Though I would add that as Gen Xers, you and I won’t be around to watch when the Millennials hit long term care age. 😉
It might be a useless errand to try to read any sense into what Biden says. The deterioration continues.
A Visibly Confused, Tired-Looking Joe Biden Mixes Up Libya, Syria Three Times In Speech On Russia
I wonder if anyone has studied how potential crises are treated — if there’s any rhyme or reason to it. It’s obvious that some people will make political hay over some crises, but which ones, and under what circumstances?
I was reliably informed by the best sources (including some on this very blog, if memory serves..) that concerns about Biden’s cognitive powers — such as might be raised by comparing videos of him during the Obama administration with videos of him now — were entirely unjustified.
If he does get to the point where even Democrats recognize he has to step aside, is the argument going to be that six months ago there was nothing to worry about? That even though everyone said he looked unwell, he was actually doing fine, and that the problems only developed afterward? Are people expected to believe this, or does it even matter?
I’m genuinely uncertain about who’s running things in the world’s (formerly?) most powerful nation, which is unnerving.
In a normal world, where reporters ask questions and try to find the truth, you would be right. “If Joe’s not well enough now, when did it start, and why didn’t you see the signs before?”
But the Biden administration gets questions about ice cream and pets, and if anyone dares to go beyond the approved narrative (how I hate that word), Twitter and Facebook will shut them down.
That’s an exaggeration, but not a big one.
