Why did it take so long for somebody to do this?
Mayor tells school board to resign or face charges.
As you would expect, the swamp creatures pushed back.
Still, this is exactly what needs to happen. And if it’s in his power, he should fire the wimpy prosecutors. Keep up the pressure!
Of course I say this as someone who actually wants the government-run schools to collapse. But as long as they exist (as the blight on humanity that they are), we need to keep trying to impose some level of sanity and stop the monsters who are trying to indoctrinate children.
Does it matter whether it’s true?
I have a feeling it doesn’t.
Whether what’s true? That the materials were child pornography? Yes, that would matter. If they weren’t, he should have threatened them with a lesser charge.
The point is, he might not be exactly right, but he’s pushing things in the right direction.
This is NOT how you do it. If there are serious allegations then they should be throughly investigated and if verified, action taken. “IF” the prosecutor is correct (see findings below), this is a lot of hoopla over something that could been handled in a different manner.
I’m not convinced one one way or another at this point. I’d like to know more about that book in question. Yet, based on the information in the article it seems this situation was escalated needlessly. As well, these days I’m VERY skeptical about these sort of actions when movies like “Ruby Bridges” and books like “To Kill a Mockingbird” are on school banned lists. I’m wondering if this is a “real” issue or more antics from the anti-woke MOB.
PROSECUTOR FINDINGS: Walsh found that “642 things to Write About” does not contain child pornography and is not graphic. “As a prosecutor and a mother, I am always concerned about claims of individuals being involved in child pornography,” Walsh wrote in the report. “However, in this case, these allegations were false and caused numerous public servants to be victimized.”
I wonder if Romeo and Juliet is child pornography–the play and the Zeffirelli movie? They were under 15 and they were in some kind of relationship.
Is “Hello God, It’s Me Margaret” child pornography?
If there is no pornography (and there probably isn’t), do the members of the school board have a defamation case against the mayor?
Do facts even matter? Every day I doubt they matter more and more. GET OFF MY LAWNS KIDS!!! It was clear that 1) this was in a community college course with high school kids enrolled–a type of dual credit. So, we’re talking high school juniors and seniors, right? 2) parents were informed that there might be mature themes in the course, and had to sign a waiver.
Exactly right! Once it was “alternative facts”. Now, it appears there are “no facts” considered before having a grand mal freakout. Having looked into this further, this is an old story that has much to do about nothing (as suspected). It was grandstanding at its best. I hope the board members, administration and others negatively impacted cleared their names. As well, I wouldn’t blame them if they sued for defamation.
Yes, there were some “provocative” prompts in the book. Still, it seems the school took measures to manage the book and course appropriately…especially requiring parental consent. Those students probably saw more illicit stuff on their cell phones and home computers (willingly purchased by their concerned parents) than in that class. The book had been used for years without issue and this “chuckle-head” had to come along and get his five minutes of fame. Now, it’s another amongst a growing list of disappearing references in schools. Next thing you know My Fair Lady and Mary Poppins will be banned because they allegedly promote lascivious premarital cohabitation. It’s starting to look like the school systems aren’t the ones with an “agenda”.
You know, it wasn’t so long ago that some use to scoff at having “safe spaces”. Seems now, those that were scoffing are the loudest voices for them…offended at the least little thing. Move along people…nothing to see here! It’s another fact-free, anti-woke freakout!
QUOTE: I wonder if Romeo and Juliet is child pornography–the play and the Zeffirelli movie?
Come to think of it, I saw the Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet movie…wait of it…on a “school trip” (cue up the scary Psycho theme music). There was partial nudity and adult themes. Where were these “woke busters” when our innocence was unceremoniously stolen from us…even endorsed as “learning” by the school system? A plague on all their houses!
This “pedophile/groomer” craze reminds me of the satanic day care stuff of the 90s.
Indeed…it seems the extremists have the loudest voices. I wonder if this “pedophile/groomer” craze is an overaction to the pure lunacy that started a few years ago…proposing that “trans-children” (who knew there was such a thing) use bathrooms according to the gender they identify with as opposed to their birth gender. Some even took legal action to “force” others to comply with “their” dysfunction. Now, it seems the pendulum has completely swung in the opposite direction.

What happened to facts, reason, balance and common sense??? As Roseann Rosanna Danna used to say…“it’s always something…if it isn’t one thing, it’s another.”
