I saw a tweet where someone asked why the administration continues to tell outrageous lies. E.g., that the border is secure.
A simplistic answer is that the media won’t call them on their lies, but that’s not true. Conservative media will point out the lies.
So why do they do it? Because their base — the people they need on their side to stay in power — don’t listen to or believe conservative media.
Fox News can call out Joe Biden’s lies all day long and it doesn’t matter to the Biden administration, because their people don’t listen to Fox News.
This has been going on for decades, and it gets worse every cycle. Until the media starts to value truth over consolidating their hold on their base, the government will continue to lie to us, trusting that the captive media will do their bidding.

I’d agree…lies abound and the media is complicit in it. Yet, Fox News as an example of calling out lies is laughable…especially when they’ve recently paid nearly a billion dollars due to their lies and involvement in one of the biggest lies of century!
Right. So one example where they settled (no court or jury decision) means that they never call out lies ever.
That would be like saying that every media outlet that fell for the Russia hoax, or the “51 intelligence agencies” hoax, or the “Covid is definitely not from a lab” hoax, etc., never ever call out any lies. Ever.
Be serious.
You call this post…being serious? 🙂
You have to take a post like that as “not literal commentary.”
You’re forgetting the other court ruling in which Tucker Carlson got off the hook because his speech on FOX was characterized as “not literal commentary.” That is not even a news outline, strictly speaking, as it is rather entertainment organization that provides propaganda for its consumers, much to Putin’s delight.
