Hunter had access to them. As much as I dislike Hillary Clinton, and as much as I would like Donald Trump to go away, I don’t believe either of them had any intention of sharing America’s secrets with foreign powers. That doesn’t excuse them for mishandling classified documents, but … it’s something.
I do expect a crack-head like Hunter Biden to do almost anything, and for Joe to put classified documents in a place where Hunter had access is incredibly damning.
“Hey Dad, can I borrow the corvette that’s out in the garage? (wink wink). I have a hot date with this Chinese woman.”
With Biden, given there IS a potential security breach there SHOULD be an investigation and it should follow the rule of law…inclusive of consequences if legitimate illegal activity has been found.
The concern about Hunter and exposure is legitimate and SHOULD be assessed. Given that seems to be of concern in Biden’s case, I find it curious that it wasn’t expressed with Trump’s case. There were many more opportunities for exposure at Mar-a-largo. In fact, there was a Chinese woman arrested at Mar-a-largo under suspicious circumstances. Yet, that seemed to be diminished by conservatives. https://www.businessinsider.com/chinese-woman-trespassed-trump-mar-a-lago-resort-deported-2021-11
That said, I find the response of Republicans in matters such as this interesting. With Hillary and Biden it’s investigate, investigate, investigate. In fact, with Hillary it was “lock her up” before an investigation could be concluded. Yet, with Trump, the initial response was to cry foul and “threaten” law enforcement. Not only that, but to investigate the investigators.
Lastly, Republicans decried the Jan 6 House Select Committee investigation as biased. Now that they have a majority in the House, it will be interesting to see if they are objective in their investigation Biden and other issues. As well, if they will do any meaningful investigation of the Trump classified documents case, given it has many of the risks they say they are concerned about with Biden. Based on recent comments of one the Republican chairs, doesn’t seem to be much of an appetite.
