Thanks to Smitemouth for sending this along. This is an interesting video, but it’s a bit long. (The lecture ends at 45 minutes. It’s Q&A after that.)

A public record of some of my thoughts. Feel free to comment, but don't expect me to respond.

Here’s another opinion piece from 2019 about Ukraine: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/order-from-chaos/2019/11/15/president-trumps-instincts-on-ukraine-have-been-bad-but-hes-right-about-one-thing/
“President Trump realizes that attempting to seek to bring Ukraine into the Western orbit through NATO membership has been counterproductive. Indeed, that American policy, as developed by President George W. Bush and then sustained by President Barack Obama, has managed to help inflame U.S.-Russia and Ukraine-Russia ties without making life better for the people of Ukraine.”

It’s about China.
Requires you give them your email and they send a link for you to open on your own. You can create a bogus yahoo email account for such a purpose to not get spam in your regular inbox… and I’d probably open the link in private mode.
It frosts me that idiot U.S. politicians have helped to create the modern Chinese menace.
“Beguiled by misguided theories about liberalism’s inevitable triumph and the obsolescence of great-power conflict, both Democratic and Republican administrations pursued a policy of engagement, which sought to help China grow richer.”
There was this ridiculous notion that if the Chinese could trade, and can buy nice underwear and such, it would produce democracy and freedom.
Or … perhaps that was the public-facing lie, and the real motivation was simply to help crony capitalists make lots and lots of money while they could.
Other background from Fiona Hill who wrote a biography of Putin. And, yes, that Fiona Hill:
