A public record of some of my thoughts. Feel free to comment, but don't expect me to respond.

I listened to it, and he did call them jackasses. I almost missed it because the focus of his comments was on Dems trying to smear him. She should be more careful, but I don’t see how a more focused condemnation of Nazis could be construed as an attempt to smear him.
No, she won’t be banned. It could just be an oversight. By contrast, when Tucker Carlson again and again tells us tells us that FBI operatives were responsible for the attack on the Capitol or that it was really no big deal, that is not a mere oversight.
One must distinguish between a mistake regarding a very specific event or comment and pushing a false narrative. When we speak of “fake news,” one normally understands the latter.

Pundits, government officials and leaders indeed need to be held accountable for the things they say. In some cases, it might be a mere mistake but in others it might be an attempt to be deception. Each requires a different response. In this case, I don’t think Maddow will be banned.
Nevertheless, it’s fair game for Maddow to be called out and corrected. Yet, I consistently wonder why that standard is good for some and not others. I recall the Trump administration edited footage of a WH reporter they were trying to ban. Talk about fake news but it wasn’t noted by the right. On another occasion, it was confirmed that Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied in her official capacity as WH Press Secretary. Yet, that wasn’t even a blimp on the radar screen in right wing media. So, when these things occur…have at it and call it out. Yet, it would be nice if it the standard was applied consistently. Otherwise, can you really take the tattlers seriously?
Does absolutely everything have to include whataboutism? Seriously. If I say “Sam did something bad,” do I also have to list every other person who’s done something similar? And if Bill did something bad, and nobody noticed or mentioned it, does that mean we can’t call out Sam?
Is this another red herring? Or, do you really not understand the point being made?
The emphasis of many of your comments for the past few months has been consistently “yes but Trump” / “yes but Republicans” / “yes but conservatives” / “yes but right-wing media” ….
It’s a reasonable point to make every once in a while, but it’s getting stale.
It needs to be made in response to ridiculous attempts to swat liberal flies and gnats while while the conservative Tyrannosaurus is chewing us up and spitting us out with great delight.
Okay, it seems you indeed didn’t understand the point being made.
