Their bias is showing. Why not say “More minority children will be born if abortion is banned”?

Aren’t both perspectives appropriate, depending on the author’s perspective?
If one is pro-choice, then they are likely to express their perspectives using language such as in the article you cited. Yet, if one is pro-life, then they are more likely to use language such as featured in this article: https://www.focusonthefamily.com/pro-life/discovering-abortions-impact-on-the-black-community-moved-me-from-apathy-to-action/
Each side of the issue could conceivable say the other side is showing their bias and be correct. In a country that says it values free speech, I would expect to see articles such as you cited. Yet, there also needs to be equal exposure for the other side of the argument. Unfortunately, that perspective isn’t as readily featured. It should be because it’s literally a matter of life and death.
