Antifa in Seattle and Portland Smash Property, Oppose Biden, Police: ‘We Are Ungovernable’
Far-left activists vandalized buildings and clashed with police in the Pacific Northwest on Jan. 20, voicing their opposition to the government, law enforcement, and the freshly sworn-in President Joe Biden, with some carrying signs reading, “We are ungovernable.” …
“We don’t want Biden. We want revenge for police murders, imperialist wars, and fascist massacres,” read a banner they marched under, while others carried a banner saying, “We are not governable,” which was dotted with anarchy symbols.
There’s a chance Biden might be able to have better luck with these people, since the media will be on his side. I wish him luck.
Trump could have definitely played the media more effectively. No doubt about that. Biden is obviously too much of a centrist to be a leader of leftwing extremists, as Trump was a leader rightwing extremists. As bad as violence from the former extremists is concerned, it is going nowhere. Not only do they lack a unifying and electrifying leader, but they are not nearly as militarily minded as the rightwingers are.
*Trump was a leader of rightwing extremists
I suppose Biden is more of a centrist than a random Antifa member, so there’s that.
It’s kind of funny that after a year of violent riots across a country — including one which *actually declared itself an autonomous zone* — it turns out that to be really dangerous, you need a “unifying and electrifying leader”, and to be “militarily minded”, and so half a year’s worth of examples don’t count, because after all, terrorist cosplay isn’t “military”. And when have groups of ideologically minded would-be revolutionaries with more devotion to a cause than to a person ever caused trouble?
In fact, actual leftist violence only serves to demonstrate the greater threat, which is the rightist violence to come!
This is kind of fun; I just flip the signs, Minitrue-style, and a Robin pastiche ensues.
Biden is as centrist as you can get under the present circumstances, but I understand that he is very much of a leftist to your average Proud Boys or QAnon member. That said, it is obviously bad that there is violence from left or right, but it becomes especially alarming when it is incited by the president himself upon the very heart and soul of the democratic republic. When the violent mob is militarily equipped and organized we are not amiss in being reminded of Blackshirts and Brownshirts. Once you have them along with a unifying and electrifying leader, you have the ingredients to radicalize vast portions of the populations and to commit untold atrocities.
The way you frame issues makes it quite clear you’re getting your news from the left, but … maybe that makes sense since you’re in Europe.
I get my info from raw data and the Lincoln Project, a group of conservatives who are acutely aware of the fascist tendency of Trump’s movement. I have seen or read almost no news from Europe. To suggest that there is anything “leftist” in my comments is total BS.
Okay, I do listen to interviews with such insiders as Bolton and Scaramucci. These people know what a narcissist Trump is.
I’m half convinced that some governors didn’t try to stop the violence because they thought it made Trump look bad, and now that Biden is president, they will make efforts to stop it. But we’ll see.
