Possible explanations for Trump’s turnover rate

by Greg Krehbiel on 19 January 2018

Turnover In Trump’s White House Is ‘Record-Setting,’ And It Isn’t Even Close. Okay. Here are some possible reasons.

He’s tough to work with.

He’s too erratic and people leave in frustration.

He likes to fire people.

He likes a dynamic, changing team.

The left and the media (but I repeat myself) have systematically tried to ruin the lives anybody who works for him.

Another possible reason: since he has not been in politics for years, he does not have a “Rolodex” containing hundreds of political contacts, cohorts, connections, contributors, consultants, etc.

    He’s got Putin’s number.

Could be he undercuts people in public and private and flip flops all the time. Tillerson has a sh*thole load of patience for this moron.

    Forecast for Trump…”Stormy”. ?

It seems that it’s often some little thing that snags the big fish, so it very well may be Stormy Whoever who ends up being Trump’s downfall.

But I think a couple things would have to turn first. Either Democrats would have to take the House and the Senate, or a significant number of Republicans would have to turn against Trump. I don’t expect to see either of those happening in the short term.

Stormy will be a nothing burger for Trump. We already knew he lacked any morals. That never was in doubt. If he used campaign funds to pay her off, then that might be an issue, but John Edwards skated on it, so I expect Teflon Don will skate on it too.

@Greg, even if the vicissitudes you mentioned where to occur, I doubt Stormy would create a “political” storm for Trump. The Dems have other material they’d go for first. As well, people are waaaaay past that now. If him being a self-confessed “pu**y grabber” didn’t change their perception, this latest potential scandal won’t even be a blimp on the radar screen. Yet, Melania is watching…things could get a little “stormy” on the home front 😉

@SM, I think you’re right, on the merits, but doesn’t it all depend on political will? If people really want to get him, they’ll get him.

@William, I know nothing about Melania and Donald’s relationship, but I suspect that women who marry billionaires enter the deal with an understanding that … things happen.

@Greg, oh you mean like how Ivana Trump understood?

@William, I don’t read People magazine, or anything like that, so I have no idea what Ivana Trump did or did not do.

    23 January 2018 @ 1:21 pm

@Greg, you don’t have to…it’s in the public domain. As a matter of fact, a simple Google search can easily provide insights on a number of women’s “understanding” when “things happen” with their billionaire husbands.

Yeah, but you raised it. I don’t fall for “hey, google this for me” stunts. 🙂

If you want to explain, fine. But whatever the deal is with Ivana, my statement is a general one about women who marry billionaires.

Here’s an interesting page about marrying billionaires. While it doesn’t specifically address whether the rich guy will be faithful, it does say this.

Despite all the luxuries that marriage ultimately heaps upon you, don’t expect the proverbial bed of roses, counsels David Patrick Columbia, editor of, a Web site devoted to the doings of the fabulously classy.

Having observed many who married for money over the years, he says, “The rich person can be a pain in the ass,” adding that he or she often demands to be waited on hand and foot, arm and toe.

But no matter how difficult things get, hang in there. The longer you stay, the more the court will award you if the marriage fails. There’s no reason, after all, that your divorce shouldn’t be every bit as lucrative as your marriage.

Who knows if Ivana might have put up with it longer or been able to forgive him if he hadn’t been rubbing her face in it publicly in the tabloids every day. Truth is she got too old for Trump… Melania is too old for Trump probably… He really wants a 30 year old.

  17. William
    23 January 2018 @ 1:47 pm

Greg, Ivana’s actions have long been known publicly after “things happened” in her marriage to The Donald….no mystery…no need to even Google it. Even my kids are aware and they weren’t born when it was occurring. 😉

That said, my point was that Ivana’s reaction was somewhat typical of women married to billionaires after “things happen”.

    > Ivana’s reaction was somewhat typical of women married to billionaires after “things happen”.

Hmm. How large is the data set, I wonder.

I would expect that women who marry billionaires are pretty calculating. If it serves their interest to make a stink, they make a stink. If it serves their interest to stay quiet and put up with things, they stay quiet.

Interestingly enough, allegedly Donald stashed his mistress while on a family trip. There was a bit of of “interaction” between Ivana and Marla during that trip. You can’t make this stuff up!

Greg, the quote you posted above somewhat sums it up..if and when they decide enough is enough…”There’s no reason, after all, that your divorce shouldn’t be every bit as lucrative as your marriage.”.
