Neanderthals (or Denisovans) in America?

by Greg Krehbiel on 27 April 2017

I’ve always thought it strange that humans made it to Australia quite a long time ago, but only came to America relatively recently. There’s some new evidence that might indicate that humans — or possibly human ancestors — came here far earlier. It’s sketchy at this point, but it will be interesting to follow.

Could history of humans in North America be rewritten by broken bones?

Hello, I live in Northwest Wisconsin. I am a rock hound of about 35 years. I recently discovered under a moss bed what appears to be a portion of a petrified skull with teeth in place. The left eye socket is present. A couple of the teeth have roots still attached. A portion of inside the skull (brain area) show capillaries and what appear to be optic nerve running to brain stem which appears to be intact as well, showing first vertebrae. I would like to share some pictures and hear some feedback. How can I do that?

    Hi Aron,

We’re not professional archeologists here. Just some folks chatting about stuff. Not sure how we can help. Sounds like you should contact a local university.
