I must lead a sheltered life… I don’t think I’ve ever seen the scene described in that article. I’ve heard a number of women surprisingly openly berate their husbands, in particular to other women like my wife but I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard from guys of their lady doing it to their face without regretting that they did so. The closest thing I hear is of a guy who’s guilty for having yelled back at his wife over too little but at the same time feels like he was provoked.

But a guy who sits at dinner and let’s his lady verbally insult him all evening? Can’t say I’ve seen a lot of that.

Now, insulting him by poking at her phone all night? I’ve seen plenty of that.

I’ve witnessed isolated incidents that seem to be part of a pattern. I can’t recall a time I’ve seen a woman berating a man over an extended period of time. But … if I witnessed a woman berating a man, I would probably leave out of embarrassment for the fellow.

ABC did a hidden camera show on this subject…it was interesting to see people’s “actual” reactions.
