Climate assumptions and the uselessness of the MSM

by Greg Krehbiel on 19 October 2009

Climate assumptions from another planet highlights what I call “fantasy energy” — the idea that we can trade proven things that work now for things that might (maybe, possibly) work in the future.

• At the same time, Britain’s Gordon Brown says we have 50 days to save the planet. When political leaders start screaming “crisis” and “catastrophe,” it’s time to hold firmly to your wallet. (Not that it does any good.)

• “Liberal tolerance” is on display again in the recent treatment of Rush Limbaugh’s bid to be part of a group bidding on a football team. The story is rather amazing. Liberals simply make things up about Rush and don’t expect to be called on it. Here’s an interesting blog post about some of the details.

• Speaking of the useless media, take a look at this. “What amazes me is that this sort of fact-checking takes just a couple of mouse clicks,” Murray says. And that’s true, but people don’t check things that confirm their prejudices.

Of course nobody will remember this.

That’s a good point. No, I didn’t remember that. But it’s one thing to say “Soros/Limbaugh shouldn’t buy a team because he’s a polarizing character” and it’s another thing to make up phony quotes and spread false accusations about somebody.
