If you don’t believe in religion, it does no good to try to suppress it and make it illegal. It simply doesn’t work.
The sensible unbeliever recognizes that religion is inescapable and uses it for his own purposes.
I’m not advocating that approach, but it’s clearly the better choice.

Yes. He invented scientology.
My point is that’s exactly what a sensible non-believer would do — use the inevitability of religion to his own advantage. L Ron Hubbard used it to make money, but somebody else could use it to gain power or influence.
