Is Bush making things worse?

Democrats are complaining that Bush’s policies in the Muddle East are only making matters worse. My question is what’s the alternative?

A lot of Moslems hate the United States and any moderate, modern regime that we’re friendly with. In fact, from their perspective, friendship with us just about defines apostacy from Islam. These nuts are willing to murder innocent people to force a complete separation between us and the middle east.

So we have two options — complete withdrawal from the Middle East, which would allow the nuts to take over completely and make all of the Moslem world look like Afghanistan used to. Or we fight a long battle against these monsters and hope that the Moslem world will eventually modernize.

Neither option looks very good to me, but Bush is absolutely right about this — all the Democrats know how to do is cut and run. They don’t have a plan or any solution. They just want to criticize.
