Humorless Environmentalists

Vlad Putin had the bad sense to point out to a bunch of enviro-wonks that global warming isn’t a universally bad thing. That, in fact, Russia might benefit from it. “Delegates … did not see the funny side.”

What’s with these people? Haven’t they seen maps of the world from, say, when the middle of North America was an inland sea, or when you could walk from Russia to Canada? Don’t they know that the earth’s climate has changed considerably over the years?

Trying to force the climate to remain in the narrow band we’re accustomed to call “normal” is just as silly as forcing a river to stay where we want it. Things simply don’t work that way.
