Anyway, La Shawn Barber points out that Liberals Hate The Word ‘Liberal’

They can change the word all they like. They can call themselves “progressive” or … I don’t know … “angelic” or whatever they want. They may get a temporary rise out of it, but it won’t last. They’ll just ruin a new word.

It’s like the word “gay,” which used to mean happy. Now, because of its association with homosexuality, it’s come to be a curse word. When kids say something is stupid they say “that’s so gay.” (See the entry for gay in the urban dictionary.)
