Will WMDs lead us into yet another Middle Eastern war?
When I was in high school I jokingly suggested that we build a huge dome over the entire Middle East and trade our weapons for their oil. Then let them blow themselves to pieces, and when they’re finished we could go in and finish pumping the wells dry.
It was only a joke because we don’t have the technology to build such a dome.
We need to go back to isolationism.
The American experiment in democracy is not that we impose democracy on the rest of the world, but that we show how it can work so that other people can choose to emulate it. If they choose not to, that’s their business.
And frankly, the way things are going right now in the United States, I’m not sure why anybody would want to follow our example.
